Who We Are & Why We Exist

Patsy Arrechea Founder

Founder Patsy Arrechea

Hello, my name is Patsy Arrechea. I personally experienced domestic violence and homelessness with three children. I know firsthand how difficult it is when shelters are full.

Beacon of Light & Resilience provides survivors and their children with immediate support, safety, and hope.

What is Beacon of Light & Resilience?

We are a Boston-based nonprofit foundation dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence, teens, and families through advocacy, temporary safe housing, and community education.

What is our mission & goals?

To empower survivors by providing immediate safety while promoting education on healthy relationships.

  • Safe housing pilot programs
  • Advocacy and court support
  • School workshops on dating violence

The Problem

Shelters in Greater Boston are often at capacity. Without immediate support, survivors are at risk.

The Solution

Our Emergency Safe Nights Pilot partners with hotels to provide 1–3 night stays.
